Another even greater risk:
an illegal incursion within the Sultanate of Oman itself!
In the extreme south of the emirate of Fujairah, I followed a rocky track through the mountains.
There, I really regretted not having rented a four wheel drive!
However, my "Hyundai Sonata" 2.0 , with broad 205 tires... seemed solid! But 100 km (62 miles) of rocky track strewn with sharp stones and 30º slopes ... really put it to the test!

Usually, I am always careful with my rented cars; in this case though, I had to embark upon a "story" that I wasn't too proud of!

Results on return: tires, shock absorbers, ball joints, air conditioning, under chassis... all in a rather in sad state, unfortunately!
